FL Gov. Scott Blasts Jesse Jackson over 'Reckless' Zimmerman Comments

Florida Gov. Rick Scott launched a broadside at Rev. Jesse Jackson on Wednesday over Jackson’s inflammatory attacks on the state in the aftermath of the George Zimmerman acquittal for the shooting of Trayvon Martin. Jackson said on Tuesday that Florida was “the Selma of our time,” referring to Selma, Alabama, the site of civil rights protests of 1965. Jackson also called Florida an “apartheid state.” Scott fired back: “Jesse Jackson owes every Floridian an apology for his reckless and divisive comments. It is unfortunate that he would come to Florida to insult Floridians and divide our state at a time when we are striving for unity and healing.”
