TX Officials Subpoena Twitter Accounts over Threats from Abortion Supporters

Two Twitter accounts have had their records subpoenaed by the Texas Department of Public Safety for threats against Texas lawmakers during the recent debate surrounding the state’s new abortion regulations.

Though the reasons for the subpoenas were not specifically mentioned in the documents, a San Antonio, Texas paper retrieved the tweets from both accounts during that time period.

Both Twitter accounts have participated in heavy attacks on Andrew Breitbart and Breitbart News contributors in the past.

One Twitter account is anonymous, but the other, @DeniseRomano, is tied to a woman by the same name in Austin, Texas. The anonymous account, @PrisonForBush, received attention previously for celebrating the death of Andrew Breitbart by tweeting: “Breitbart dead? D Good riddance. More republicans should follow his lead.” The account also has “Republicans must be eliminated” in the Twitter profile.

The @DeniseRomano account has a blog associated with it. Among the bizarre sentiments expressed on the blog is a request that women refuse to have sexual intercourse with any right-of-center person: “I hope all women will refuse to have sex with anyone who is a republican or libertarian and who is not a feminist.”
