Many Democrats are telling Filner to resign or weighing in on the scandal. Representative Debbie Wasserman-Shultz (D) said she was offended by his actions and asked him to resign. Assemblywoman Lorena Gonzalez, Assembly Majority Leader Toni Atkins, City Council President Todd Gloria and Councilman David Alvarez demanded Filner’s resignation.
