Defending Obamacare, President Claims GOP 'Holy Grail' to Hurt the Sick

On Friday, President Obama went into his stump speech on Obamacare, stating, “As we speak, right now… [Americans] being able to keep their kid on their plan, that’s benefiting millions of young people.”

He also said that millions had “received rebates” and seniors were getting discounts on their drugs. The president mentioned free preventive care like mammograms and even related the story of a cancer victim who had somehow gone into remission thanks to Obamacare.

Finally, Obama slapped at his opponents, outrageously claiming that Republicans had made “preventing these people from getting health care their Holy Grail.” He said that the “one unifying principle” for Republicans was keeping 30 million people from getting healthcare, hurting the elderly, and removing care for the ill.

“There’s not a pretense now they’re going to replace it with something better,” Obama said. He said that Republicans’ assertions were that those covered by Obamcare would be “better off without it.” He accused Republicans of an “ideological fixation.”

He then dismissed the Obamacare rollout glitches as similar to glitches when Apple introduces a new iPad.
