Rubio Spends '60 Seconds' on Immigration in 35-Minute Speech

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), who has been silent on the issues of immigration reform ever since the bill he championed in the Senate passed in June, reportedly broke that silence–for about a minute–while speaking to around 300 people on Monday at an event in Jacksonville, Florida.

According to Bloomberg News, Rubio delivered at 35-minute speech and touched upon issues like Obamacare and taxes but only “spoke about his immigration bill for about 60 seconds.”

Since being the face of the Senate’s Gang of Eight that wrote the comprehensive immigration bill that the Congressional Budget Office said would lower the wages of working class Americans, Rubio has seen his support among conservatives and Republicans plummet
