Immigration Rally Organizer: Dodgers 'Very Generous' to Let Us Use Parking Lot

On Wednesday morning at 6 a.m., pro-illegal immigrant legalization protesters gathered in the parking lot at Dodger Stadium. The protesters are slated to motorcade up to Bakersfield for a larger rally today. One of the organizers promptly thanked the Dodgers, stating they were “very generous” for allowing the protesters to utilize their parking lot.

The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles has distributed a flier announcing the rally beginning at Dodger Stadium as part of their effort to pressure Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), the House Majority Whip, into potentially decisive support of citizenship measures.

A representative of the Dodger organization had informed Breitbart News on Monday that the parking lot was not a part of the Stadium proper, and therefore required no permission for parking. However, on Tuesday, another Dodgers representative explained that the parking lot is considered Dodgers property and rented out by the Dodgers. The Dodgers organization identified the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor as the property renters for the rally.

UPDATE: A representative of the Dodgers says that the Dodgers did rent out the lot for the immigration rally, and admitted that the rentals were judged on a case-by-case basis, so there would be no blanket political guarantee of lot rental. Furthermore, the flyer carrying the Dodger Stadium name was approved by the Dodger organization legal counsel prior to its release.
