Obama Bigwigs Attend Comcast CEO's Ritzy Vineyard Party

In constant campaign mode, President Obama attended a tony get-together in Martha’s Vineyard on Thursday night, headed up by Comcast CEO Brian Roberts and attended by luminaries from the media world ranging from Obama’s chief Hollywood backer, Harvey Weinstein, to Carly Simon, Larry David, and Peter Chernin. Comcast owns NBC; Weinstein just produced the Obama-worshipping “The Butler.”

Political bigwigs included members of the Obama administration Valerie Jarrett, National Security Adviser Susan Rice, Attorney General Eric Holder, former car czar Steven Rattner, and California Attorney General Kamala Harris.

While Americans fretted about the possible return of a recession and Egyptians died in the streets, the Obama crew relaxed on the terrace of Roberts’ home. Comcast owns NBC, the network slated to run a miniseries on Hillary Clinton in the near future. Roberts has been a longtime Obama supporter, going so far as to write a letter to President Obama in 2009 backing Obamacare. “I want to commend you for your dedication to health care reform and for the remarkable progress that has been achieved in this area under your leadership,” Roberts wrote. “We cannot allow perfection to stand in the way of critically needed and very good legislation, which is why I support your efforts. Comcast stands ready to assist you and this nation in the effort to enact sensible health care reforms.” Roberts also golfed with the president on Thursday.
