Claim: OK Shooting Suspects Were in Gang, 'No Parental Supervision'

After Christopher Lane was shot on August 16, Oklahoma resident James Johnson called 911 and told police the suspects were hiding in a church parking lot. He claims the boys were in a gang, “the Crips,” and that they had “no parental supervision.”

Speaking to Australia’s Herald Sun, Johnson said his son had called him about two hours after the shooting, scared that the suspects were coming to kill him. Johnson says he “called the police and they got there in about three minutes.”

Johnson said the suspects issued their threat via Facebook, and that his son was “a little terrified” because their home is near the church where the suspects were hiding: “They threatened to kill my son because they are in a gang, the Crips, and were trying to get my son in it and I wouldn’t let him do it.”

Johnson’s son attends Duncan High School, the same school two of the shooting suspects attended. Johnson said those alleged to have been involved in the shooting were known as “troublemakers” and “bullies” with “no adult supervision.”
