Jewelry Store Owner in Wheelchair Shoots Burglar

Jewelry Store Owner in Wheelchair Shoots Burglar

On October 23, a jewelry store owner who “uses a wheelchair” foiled a robbery by shooting one of two burglars in the stomach.

According to WBIR.com, two suspects entered the store in Alcoa, Tennessee late in the afternoon. One of the suspects distracted the store owner with questions about merchandise while the other jumped the counter.

The store owner shot one of the two burglars and then held both at gun point until police arrived.

Alcoa PD Detective Kris Sanders said, “Everyone has a gun permit nowadays. So I don’t think it’s safe to assume you’re going into a business where there’s not a weapon.”

The names of the suspects have not been released. The one which was shot is in stable condition at a local hospital.
