Poll: 41% Say Non-Whites Have Fewer Opportunities

A poll from ABC News-Fusion shows that fully 41 percent of Americans think that non-whites have fewer opportunities than white Americans. 62 percent of liberal Democrats believe that, and so do 25 percent of Republicans. Traditionally, polls have shown a vast gap between the races on the question of equal opportunity in society. An August Gallup poll showed that 60 percent of blacks say that whites have better job opportunities.

The poll also showed that six in ten Americans do not trust the government, and a bare majority of 51 percent of Americans believe that illegal immigrants should be given some legal status.
