Palin: Tough for Critics Not to Comment on Christie's 'Extreme' Weight

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said moderate Republican New Jersey Governor Chris Christie’s “extreme” weight makes it difficult for some people not to comment on it.

When Palin noted that women in politics get criticized over things like their wardrobe that men never have to worry about, host Jake Tapper mentioned that Christie also hears about his appearance.

Oh, that’s because it’s been extreme, okay?” Palin said. “It’s hard for some people not to comment on it.”

Christie, who will likely run for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016, revealed that he recently had Lap-Band surgery to lose weight.

Palin appeared on The Lead to discuss her book, Good Tidings and Great Joy: Protecting the Heart of Christmas.
