The author of a book on John F. Kennedy’s conservative legacy said Democrats are afraid to discuss all that the late president stood and it makes them “tear their hair out” to do so because it shows how far liberals have strayed since then.
Appearing on Breitbart News Sunday on Sirius XM Patriot channel 125 with Breitbart News Executive Chairman and host Stephen K. Bannon, Ira Stoll, the author, JFK, Conservative, said today’s liberals do not want to talk about “his tax cuts and military build up.” He said Kennedy’s conservative legacy makes liberals tear “their hair out” because they “just can’t stand it” for it “highlights how far the Democratic party has strayed.”
Stoll noted that the tax cuts Reagan ushered in and his victory over the Soviets in the Cold War were fights that started under Kennedy. He also noted Kennedy was against abortion and appointed the Supreme Court Justice (Byron White) who wrote the dissent in Roe v Wade” while he “favored capital punishment, and wanted to reform welfare.”
“By all those elements, he was a conservative… in his time and our time,” he said.
Stoll also noted there was a difference between a United States living in “freedom under God” and the “ruthless” and godless tyranny of the Soviet Union that was a “part of Cold War politics.”
