WASHINGTON
The White House is welcoming the Supreme Court’s decision to referee another dispute over President Barack Obama’s health care law. It involves a provision that requires most companies that offer health insurance to their workers to include contraception among a range of preventive health benefits.

White House spokesman Jay Carney says the administration believes the justices will agree that the mandate is lawful and essential to women’s health.

The Obama administration had asked the high court to consider a legal challenge to the requirement. The issue has divided the lower courts.

Justices will hear arguments, probably in late March. A decision is expected by late June.
