HHS Secretary Sebelius Asks Americans Frustrated by Obamacare to Come Back

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, testifying in front of the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health, requested that all consumers frustrated by their previous experience with the flawed Healthcare.gov website to please “come back and try again.” During the Capitol Hill grilling today, Sebelius recognized that a lot of consumers are “tech savvy” and were disappointed by the lack of functionality of the website.

Sebelius said that there are 365,000 Americans have signed up for the Obamacare exchanges. However, this is only fraction of the Obama Administration’s goal of 1.2 million by the end of November. It has widely been reported that there have been millions of cancelations already with countless millions more to come.

The Health and Human Services Secretary could not give Joe Pitts (R-PA), ranking member of the subcommittee, an accurate statistic on how many people have actually paid their insurance premiums.

The Obama Administration’s goal is to have 7 million paid enrollees by the end of march 2014.
