Sebelius: Obama Admin Still 'Hand-Matching' Applicants with Insurance Companies

On Wednesday, Health and Human Services Secretary Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said the Obama administration is still “hand-matching” Americans who attempted to apply for Obamacare on HealthCare.Gov but may not have had their information correctly sent to insurance companies due to what are known as “834 errors.”

Insurance companies and an administration that has claimed to be technologically savvy were manually reviewing applications weeks after the HealthCare.Gov launch in October because there were so few successful applicants.

After acknowledging there were a “serious number of errors” after HealthCare.Gov was launched, Sebelius said, “we are in the process of hand-matching individuals with insurance companies.”

Responding to questions from Rep. Jim Matheson (D-UT), Sebelius conceded there were Americans who think they are enrolled in Obamacare and may not be because of the “834 errors,” and that the Obama administration is working to make sure Americans people who think they are enrolled in Obamacare are “actually matched with the company.”

Because hand-matching applicants with insurance companies becomes more unfeasible as more applicants roll in, there will be Americans who may not have insurance even after thinking that they have successfully navigated HealthCare.Gov and crossed the finish line to enroll in Obamacare.

As Breitbart News has reported, many insurance companies have complained they have received faulty and incomplete data for Americans who applied for Obamacare on the HealthCare.Gov website, which means Americans may go to see their doctors or have an operation in January only to find out they are not enrolled in Obamacare plans they thought they signed up for.
