How President Barack Obama spent Day 12 of his holiday vacation in Hawaii on Wednesday:

_ HEALTH CARE TWEET: Obama sent a tweet from the administration’s (at)WhiteHouse Twitter account to mark the major benefits of his signature federal health care law taking effect.

In the personally written tweet, signed off with his initials, the president referenced a Seattle boy who stood next to him and other lawmakers when he signed the Affordable Care Act in 2010.

Michelle Obama sent a tweet from her (at)FLOTUS account signed “mo” that asked people to serve military members and their families in 2014 “as well as they’ve served us.”

_ REGARDS TO BARBARA BUSH: Obama and his wife said in a written statement released by the White House that they were wishing former first lady Barbra Bush a “speedy recovery” after she was hospitalized with a respiratory-related issue.

The president said Mrs. Bush is blessed to have a loving, supportive family and, in his words, a “vibrant spirit that we hope will have her feeling better soon.”

_ NEW YEAR’S DAY GOLF: Obama skipped the gym Wednesday and hit the links at Mid Pacific Country Club, a golf course in Kailua’s Lanikai neighborhood with scenic views of the water and lush green mountains. As his motorcade passed near the beach, surfers, kayakers, boaters and dog walkers were out and about enjoying picturesque weather.
