59-Year Old Woman Pulls Shotgun on Burglars: 'I'm Not a Sitting Duck'

On February 6th, a 59-year old Cheviot Hills, CA woman identified only as “Carla” pulled a shotgun and fired a warning shot when her dog began barking at two burglars.

Afterward, she told reporters, “I’m not a sitting duck.”

According to MyFoxLA.com, Carla, “wearing her nightgown,” grabbed her shotgun and went outside when she heard her dog barking. She then fired a warning shot at the ground, causing one of the burglars to scream, “Crazy b**ch has a gun!”

Both burglars then fled the scene.

Carla said, “You have to at some point in time, take responsibility for your own safety and that’s all I was doing.”

Police said the two burglars had already robbed one house before walking into Carla’s backyard.
