On March 12th, 82-year-old George Bradford fended off a 33-year-old home intruder by “bashing him in the head” with a claw hammer.
The New York Daily News reports that Bradford was awakened by the screams of his daughter and granddaughter and began moving through the Detroit house to find the intruder. Upon finding him, Uptown Magazine reported that Bradford “asked him to leave,” and when he didn’t, “that’s when [Bradford] let him have it.”
Bradford eventually figured out the intruder had entered the house “through the basement window.”
This is yet another example of a Detroit homeowner using force to defend his or her home and family over the past few weeks.
