Bill Allowing Guns in Churches, Use of Silencer During Hunting Passes Georgia Senate

A bill allowing concealed carry permit holders to carry guns in churches passed the Georgia senate late March 18th.

According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the bill passed by the senate changed the house bill slightly. Whereas the house bill opened churches to concealed carry unless specific church leaders opted out, the senate bill opens churches to concealed carry only where certain church leaders opt in.

The senate did leave the expansion of concealed carry into unsecured portions of airports in place but “tightened” the process of getting permission to do so.

According to GunsSaveLives.net, the senate bill passed by a margin of 37-18.

The senate added “an amendment to the bill that would allow the use of suppressors during hunting.”
