A Brooklyn man rejected an offer to plead guilty on Monday to giving his three-month-pregnant girlfriend an abortion pill while they were having sex, causing the death of the baby inside her. Shervaughn Remy, 34, was arrested on Valentine’s Day 2013, is charged with felony abortion.
His girlfriend was in agony after she had taken the pills, with terrible pain in her abdomen. She went to a local hospital, and a doctor at the hospital extracted the two pills from inside her and found that the pills were the abortion drug Cytotec. Soon after that, the bay was born dead. Defense attorney David Zelman said, “My client maintains his innocence,” noting that the girlfriend doesn’t want to press charges.
