'Party' Twitter Account Disturbs Long Island Parents

A Twitter page titled @LIPartyStories is devoted to Long Island teenagers from Nassau and Suffolk counties posting snapshots of themselves imbibing in alcohol and acting in vulgar ways.

One photo showed a female high school student urinating in a sink while crowned with a Happy Birthday tiara, another shows a naked teenager in a backyard, and a third shows a teenager whose liquor consumption rendered her unconscious.

Sites like this disturb Marge Lee, whose eldest son was killed 23 years ago when Lee was hit head-on by a drunk driver. She runs an awareness troupe, called Determined, that warns teenagers about the consequences of drinking. She said, “I don’t want what happened to my family to happen to anyone else. I don’t want kids to die from alcoholic poisoning. Let’s do the educational part and prevent it.”

More than 22,000 people already follow the Twitter page.
