Pastor Places AR-15 in Front of Altar During Gun Giveway

Grace Baptist Church in Lansingburgh, New York focused on God, guns, and liberty, as Pastor John Koletas placed an AR-15 “in front of the altar” during a March 23rd gun giveaway.

According to the Times Union, Koletas said, “We have our Constitution to protect us, but we have our liberty to protect ourselves.”

42-year old Ron Stafford of Schenectady won the rifle, “but not before three other people’s names were called and then discarded because they had already left” the church service.

Stafford will go through a background check for the AR-15 this week.

Retired Texas pastor Bob Gray, Sr. spoke at the service along with Assemblyman Steve McLaughlin. Gray admonished congregants to “be more passionate about the Gospel than the gun issue.” He then told them he was carrying a concealed handgun at the event, adding, “And listen up reporters, it’s not registered.”
