Joe Scarborough to South Carolina After Declaring He's Not Running for President

Joe Scarborough, the Morning Joe host who has become a Rockefeller Republican since becoming comfortable at 30 Rock, said he is not running for president. However, that has not stopped the media from covering his visits to early primary states like New Hampshire and South Carolina.

According to a report in US News & World Report, Scarborough “is scheduled to address the GOP state House caucus at the Palmetto Club in Columbia” and sign copies of his book, The Right Path, on Tuesday.

He will also reportedly meet with “a group of Republican elected officials and donors” at a law firm and make another trip to the Palmetto State next month.

Scarborough, a “No Labels”-type of figure like failed 2012 presidential candidate Jon Huntsman, hosts a show that caters to the mainstream elite in the so-called Acela Corridor in the Northeast. Conservatives have lambasted politicians who appear on the show for participating in the “Morning Joe/No Labels” primary in which the primary voters are mainstream media elites.
