FLASHBACK: Obama and Sebelius Failed to Meet on Affordable Care Act

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius has reportedly resigned and will leave the administration on Friday.

Sebelius has been under fire since the botched launch of Obamacare and the HealthCare.gov website. The New York Times reports that President Barack Obama accepted her resignation this week and will nominate “Sylvia Mathews Burwell, the director of the Office of Management and Budget, to replace her.”

As Breitbart News reported, an extensive Government Accountability Institute investigation found Obama did not have a single one-on-one meeting with Sebelius since the passage of Obamacare. The report found that since Obamacare was signed on March 23, 2010, Obama met with “various Cabinet secretaries a total of 277 times,” but his presidential schedule did not “document a single one-on-one meeting” with Sebelius.

The White House revealed that Obama met with Sebelius a day after the report came out last December, and the Health and Human Services Department also claimed that Sebelius met regularly with Obama. Neither the White House nor the Health and Human Services Department has been able to provide specific dates on which Obama and Sebelius met one-on-one at the White House.

During a House hearing shortly after the report was released, Sebelius evaded questions about when she had met with Obama.

When Obama took a victory lap at the White House and announced that seven million Americans had enrolled in Obamacare, even though nearly 20% of those enrollees may not have paid and do not have insurance, he did not mention Sebelius.
