Ozark Alderwoman Quits over Antisemitic Mayor's Ties to Alleged Kansas City Killer

Alderwoman Jessica Wilson of the Missouri town of Marionville in the Ozark Mountain has resigned after the town’s newly-elected mayor, Danny Clevenger, said he supported the beliefs–though not the actions–of F. Glenn Miller, the man who allegedly killed three in an attack on Jewish centers in Overland Park, KS last week.

The Springfield, MO News-Leader reports that when news of Clevenger’s association with, and support of, Miller emerged, Alderwoman Wilson had hoped to find some way to resolve the problem, but felt that she could not move for impeachment or other action by herself, and so she resigned from the local government.

Clevenger had said that he considered Miller a friend and shared some of his views about Jews: “There some things that are going on in this country that are destroying us. We’ve got a false economy and it’s, some of those corporations are run by Jews because the names are there,” he said, according to KSPR News.

The city attorney has also resigned, and the rest of the alderman will meet Monday to consider responses.
