Report: $1.2 Billion Obamacare Contractor Pays Workers to Do Nothing

A whistleblower in St. Louis, Missouri, came forward to reveal that Obamacare contractor Serco, a British company that receives $1.2 billion in taxpayer money to process paper Obamacare applications, pays employees to sit and do nothing.

“Serco, as a contractor, gets paid for the number of people that they employ,” the whistleblower explained to KMOV St. Louis. “So they want us there even if we’re not doing anything.”

The employee went on to explain that workers are “told to sit at their computers and hit the refresh button every 10 minutes, no more than every 10 minutes. They’re monitored, to hopefully look for an application.”

The Obama administration defended Serco in a statement issued to KMOV through the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare: “Serco is committed to making sure federal funds are spent appropriately, and the number of Serco staff is reviewed on a regular basis.”

Obamacare will cost U.S. taxpayers $2.6 trillion over the next 10 years.
