On May 14 17-year-old Samantha Mayhue of Cypress, TX, retrieved her father’s Glock 19 to confront a burglar trying to get into her family’s home.
According to Houston’s ABC 13, Mayhue heard someone “trying to crack the code on their electronic front door lock.” She then retrieved her father’s Glock and said, “I was going to pull the trigger and aim for the chest and keep pulling until all 17 rounds of my dad’s Glock 19 was gone.”
An alarm tied to the electronic front door lock sounded and scared off the intruder before Mayhue had to use the gun. But she made clear she will be ready if the burglar ever tries again: “Daddy taught me right. I wasn’t afraid to do what I needed to do.”
The Mayhue’s street has witnessed a string of car break ins and burglaries “in the last several months.”
