Mere Mention of 'Assault Rifle' Sends Armed Home Invaders Fleeing

On May 17, four home invaders fled a Fort Wayne, Indiana, home after forcing their way in and hearing one of the residents direct another resident to “get an assault rifle.”

At least two of the invaders were armed.

According to the Journal Gazette, the invaders “donned masks and forced their way into the home when a resident answered the door.” They made “three of the home’s residents to get on the floor” while they began searching the home.

One of the three residents on the floor yelled, directing the resident upstairs to “get an assault rifle.” Upon hearing this, the four invaders turned and “ran out the front door.”

A fifth invader, who had locked himself in a bathroom after meeting an armed resident upstairs, was then “tackled and held until police officers arrived.”
