Suspect in Murder of Arizona Priest Has 'History of Violent Offenses'

The man who reportedly killed Phoenix’s Father Kenneth Walker on June 11 was a “felony offender” with “a history of violent offenses.”

As Breitbart News reported on June 18, the suspect attacked Father Joseph Terra in the rectory and beat him badly, then took a gun and shot Father Kenneth Walker.

According to CNN, the suspect is 54-year-old Gary Michael Moran–a man released on April 24 after serving prison time for charges that included felony. Following his release, he has been “living primarily in the streets and homeless shelters.”

After beating Father Terra “with a metal rod,” Moran allegedly took away Terra’s gun and used it to shoot and kill Father Walker.

Phoenix Police Chief Daniel V. Garcia called the attack “vicious, tragic, [and] horrifying.”

He added, “The city of Phoenix–waking up to this horrific crime–felt an urgency to bring this violent, felony offender to justice.”
