Report: Feds Deported Fewer than 2,000 Illegal Immigrant Kids Last Year

Those in Central America may not have believed Vice President Joe Biden’s vow that a “vast majority” of illegal immigrant children flooding across the border will be deported, because the Obama administration returned fewer than 2,000 illegal immigrant children last year to their home countries.

According to the Associated Press, “the Obama administration estimates that between October 2013 and September 2014 it will have caught 90,000 children trying to illegally cross the Mexican border without their parents.”

In addition, as Breitbart News has reported:

Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson has said at least 350 illegal immigrant children are crossing the border a day, and the federal government estimated that at least 52,000 unaccompanied illegal immigrant minors have crossed the border since October of last year. Federal officials have estimated that another 150,000 more illegal immigrant children may try to cross the border next year.

Critics of the Obama administration have said this lax deportation policy has led those in Central America to believe they will be able to remain in the United States indefinitely if they make it across the border.

Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) warned on Tuesday that in five years, politicians will be clamoring for citizenship for kids who are flooding across the border today by arguing that they came to the United States through no fault of their own.
