Outfitter's Gold-Plated KFC Chicken Bone Necklaces Sell Out in Hours

LOUISVILLE, Ky., June 27 (UPI) — After they went on sale earlier today, a limited run of 20 gold-plated KFC chicken bone necklaces have already sold out.

Kentucky for Kentucky and jeweler Meg Carroll teamed up to create the finger-lickin’ fashion piece.

Small 14-carat gold plated chicken wang necklace were sold for $130 and a larger wang necklace retailed for $160.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Carroll and her boyfriend ate 25 wings from a KFC and then cleaned the bones with soap and water. After they were dry, Carroll varnished the bones and coated them in copper before they were plated in 14-karat gold.

“We’re excited to introduce a brand spanking new Kentucky invention. An invention so kick-ass, it will change the jewelry game forever,” KFK wrote on its website. “We’ve taken one great Kentucky invention and turned it into a completely new Kentucky invention. Like Willy Wonka’s ‘Everlasting Gobstopper’ we’ve figured about a way to make it possible to savor a single piece of Kentucky Fried Chicken forever. For-ever and ever. We all win.”
