Colorado Restaurant Wants Customers, Employees To Carry Guns

Shooters Grill in Rifle, Colorado, not only allows customers and employees to carry guns in the restaurant, they go out of their way to encourage it.

According to the Post Independent, a sign on the front of the restaurant reads: “Guns are welcome on premises. Please keep all weapons holstered, unless the need arises. In such cases, judicious marksmanship is appreciated.”

Guns are carried openly by waitresses and patrons alike.

The restaurant is owned by Lauren Boebert who says: “We encourage [carrying guns], and the customers love that they can come here and express their rights. This country was founded on our freedom. People can come in carrying their gun, and they can pray over their food.”

Boebert says she “consulted with [her] Christian friends and everyone” before opening the restaurant just over a year ago. And while some expressed concern that a place named “‘Shooters’ sounded like a bar or strip joint,” she concluded that the restaurant was fitting because Rifle was “founded on guns and the Old West.”
