AR-15 Being Raffled to Raise Funds for Vietnam Vets from Assault Chopper Company

An AR-15 is being raffled to raise money for the reunion of a group of Vietnam vets who flew helicopter gunships during the war.

According to Lake Country Sun, all “[proceeds will benefit] the 57th Assault Helicopter Company Vietnam Veterans reunion fund.”

The 57th AHC “served in Vietnam 1967-73 [and] was known by the call sign Gladiator or Cougar, gunships.” They “flew the iconic UH-1 Huey helicopter in support of the U.S. Army’s 4th Division and 5th Special Forces as well as various Vietnamese army units in the mountainous northern II Corps, Laos and Cambodia during the war.”

Jim McKenzie is chairman of the Gladiator Reunion 2015 and is selling the raffle tickets for $10 each.

He is in Texas, but people from all over the country are allowed to buy tickets as long as they check first to make certain doing so comports with the laws of their state of residence.

Those interested in taking part in the raffle can do so via the 57th Assault Helicopter Co. website at www.57thahc.com.
