Texas Democrat: What Would Be The Point Of An Obama Border Visit?

The Hill reports that Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-Texas) opposes the idea of President Obama making an appearance at the Texas border. “I think that he has people in place to take care of that situation,” Johnson said on MSNBC. “There have been leaders from all over the Congress to visit the border. The Homeland Security has been there. What would be the point in the president going?”

The president will be in the state Texas on Wednesday and Thursday for fundraisers.

Johnson added that “it is fine” if the president wants to see the crisis for himself but “I don’t think he needs to go to get information.”
