Obama: Plane Tragedy 'An Outrage Of Unspeakable Proportions'

President Obama took the White House podium this morning to directly address the Ukraine plane tragedy after a Malaysian flight was shot down killing nearly 300 people.

Obama said that only one American citizen was currently confirmed as a person aboard the plane.

Obama confirms that evidence indicated that the plane was shot down from an area controlled by Russian backed separatists in Ukraine.

Obama, however, declined to directly blame Russian President Vladimir Putin for the incident.

Obama cautioned Americans to avoid “misinformation” about the incident, calling for time to investigate the tragedy and report the facts.

Obama did not signal any new actions from the White House and indicated that the United States military would not take further action.

On Thursday, Obama called for a ceasefire in the area and called for an investigation into the details of the tragedy. The White House indicated that the NTSB and the FBI was prepared to assist the investigation.
