At a Saturday pro-amnesty protest in Washington, D.C., two activists were arrested after climbing flag poles and hanging banners calling for an end to all deportations.
President Barack Obama has signaled that he will enact executive actions to give temporary work permits and amnesty to millions of more illegal immigrants. But the demonstrators wanted even more–amnesty for all–and Obama to act more quickly.
A day after the House passed a bill that would prevent Obama from using federal funds to implement executive amnesty, AFL-CIO members, illegal immigrant DREAMers from across the country, various groups representing day laborers, and a coalition of pro-amnesty groups marched across D.C. demanding executive actions and “not one more” deportation.
