NBC News reports that on Wednesday, Vice President Joe Biden not only used language that adopted all the illegal immigrant children coming across the southern border, he also made all Americans adoptive parents together with him.
Biden, addressing attorneys and legal groups who met to discuss how the Central American immigrants should be represented, said, “These are not somebody else’s kids, these are our kids.”
He continued, “These are the children that lift the national ambitions of each of these countries aloft. And it is a tragedy for countries who are losing them and for us not being able to solve every one of their problems.”
Biden warned that if the immigrants were repatriated, their situation would be worse than what the United States has already given them. He asserted, “Even if we passed the immigration bill, it wouldn’t solve it all. Even if we had the resources we asked for, it wouldn’t solve it all. This is just hard stuff.”
