At last weekend’s Family Leadership Summit in Iowa, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) was noticeably absent among presidential hopefuls attending the event.
But Bob Vander Plaats went out of his way to excuse the Kentucky Senator’s absence, explaining that he had a “family commitment” that he had to attend.
Vander Plaats told the crowd that since the Family Leadership organization was all about family, he understood.
But his attitude changed after finding out that Paul attended a fundraiser for a library in East Hampton on Saturday, co-sponsored by actor Alec Baldwin.
According to a Paul aide, Paul was with his wife and one of his sons for a family event – and that the fundraiser was an additional event.
