Obama at Golf Course Six Minutes After Press Conference

President Obama took time from his vacation to briefly address the situation in Iraq with the Islamic State terrorist group and the riots in Ferguson, Missouri, that have resulted from the shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown.

Obama traveled from his vacation home to the Edgartown School to give his statement–a location that was less than three miles from the golf course.

Late for his 12:15 p.m. scheduled press appearance, he arrived at the school at 12:44 p.m. and finished speaking at about 12:58 p.m. He did not take questions from reporters.

The President left the school at 1:00 p.m. and arrived at the Vineyard Golf Club in Edgartown by 1:04.

According to the White House pool report, Obama is golfing with Cyrus Walker, Jim Kim, and former Ambassador Ron Kirk.
