Red-State Dems Flee Obama Over Gun Control, Healthcare

Red state Democrats working to win elections in November are fleeing Obama over gun control and healthcare.

They are choosing photo-ops with other Democrat party leaders instead.

MSNBC reports that Obama’s approval rating is “in the low 40s nationally,” and this is due in large part to his “unpopular… stance on issues like gun control and healthcare.” As a result, red state Democrats do not want to be identified with him.

In fact, some “candidates in the president’s own party seem to want to stay away with a 10-foot pole.”

Think about this way–when Senator Kay Hagan (D-NC) voted for gun control in April 2013, some media outlets reported this would actually help her re-election chances because the American people allegedly wanted more gun control. But in December 2013 Breitbart News reported that Hagan was already falling in the polls and on September 4, 2014, Real Clear Politics reported Hagan is running behind Republican challenger Thom Tillis.

This is why MSNBC reports that Hagan has tried to distance herself from Obama in recent months by criticizing various White House policies.

It is also why Democrat Senate candidates in Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, and West Virginia want Obama to stay away. They know Democrats will take a beating at the polls if gun control and healthcare are the issues on voters’ minds in November.
