'Ready for Hillary' Super PAC Targeting Latinos

An event on November 18 in Washington hosted by the pro-Hillary Clinton super PAC “Ready for Hillary” is targeting the Latino community, as Latino political leaders are making appearances to stir up fervor for Clinton in their community.

Among the Latino leaders attending the event will be Texas Rep. Joaquin Castro, who is already on record supporting a 2016 Clinton run, and CA Rep. Loretta Sanchez, a staunch advocate of immigration reform who has been critical of the White House for its reticence to more forward in that area. Veteran Clinton advisor Harold Ickes is also listed on the invitation, which was obtained by POLITICO.

Clinton may be trying to regain ground she lost among Latinos from a gaffe she committed at Sen. Tom Harkin’s (D) traditional steak fry in Iowa in September. When a woman introducing herself as a “DREAMer” asked Clinton what she thought of Barack Obama’s delay in signing an executive order regarding immigration reform, Clinton replied noncommittally: “Well, I think we have to just keep working, can’t stop ever working… You know, I think we have to elect more Democrats.”
