Proving they are paying attention and have much better instincts than their government and elite media overlords, a full 80% of Americans back quarantining American citizens and legal residents after they return from West Africa. This means everyone, whether they are symptomatic or not. Eighty-percent want these folks quarantined until it is a medical certainty the traveler does not have Ebola.
Even though the media and government have tried to muddy the waters about the risks of transmitting Ebola and just what symptomatic means, the American people get it and in order to avert a potential catastrophe want every precaution taken.
Moreover, only 17% want travelers from West Africa allowed to not be quarantined unless they show symptoms. This again proves that the American people are following and respecting science. At the very least, by the time someone on the loose figures out they have Ebola, any fluid they leave behind in the taxi they take the hospital could infect someone else.
When it comes to foreign visitors from Ebola-ravaged West Africa, only 14% oppose a quarantine. A full 56% want all foreign visitors quarantined while 27% don’t want anyone from West Africa allowed to enter the country, period.
While the White House pretends its unconscionable bungling is based on science and the elite media puts laughing at us rubes above pushing for public safety, the American people have cut through the nonsense, put public safety first, and figured out the only reasonable and compassionate solution to ensure Ebola is stopped in its tracks.
