Hillary Clinton Makes First New Hampshire Appearance in 6 Years to Boost Shaheen

NASHUA, N.H. (AP) — Hillary Rodham Clinton is thanking the voters of New Hampshire for teaching her about “grit and determination” during her 2008 campaign and urging them to help fellow Democrats in Tuesday’s midterm elections.

The potential 2016 Democratic presidential candidate was campaigning in the state that holds the nation’s first presidential primary on behalf of Sen. Jeanne Shaheen and Gov. Maggie Hassan. It’s her first campaign stop in New Hampshire since October 2008.

Clinton says since 1991, New Hampshire has opened its homes and hearts to her and her husband, former President Bill Clinton.

She says in 2008, “during the darkest days of my campaign,” New Hampshire voters lifted her up and helped her get her voice back.

Clinton’s appearance in Nashua was eagerly anticipated by Democrats who remember her husband’s presidency.
