David Perdue Wins GA Senate Seat

ATLANTA, Georgia–Georgia businessman Republican Sen. David Perdue (R-GA) won his senate race against Democrat Michelle Nunn on Tuesday night and also broke 50 percent, so the GOP’er will not be forced to compete in a January runoff. Perdue took 55 percent of the vote while Nunn picked up 43 percent.

Along with Perdue is Georgia Republican Governor Nathan Deal who also won his re-election against Democrat Jason Carter sans a runoff. According to the Secretary of State’s website, Georgia has 5,191,182 registered voters. Forty-three percent turned out to vote and cast 2,248,945 ballots.

“We put great work together we had a great team and we got the vote out. And even with being outspent by a very tough Democratic machine, this state is not blue. This state is not purple. It’s still a red state,” said Perdue senior campaign advisor Martha Zoller to Breitbart News.

“I said for the last 10 days it was not going to go into a runoff,” said retiring Senator Saxby Chambliss (R-GA) to reporters on Tuesday night.
