White House: Midterm Elections Not a Referendum on the President

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest says the results of the midterms should not be seen as a protest vote against President Obama’s failures.

Acosta followed up by asking about a potential Republican Senate run by Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY), but Earnest replied he would not “entertain that hypothetical.”
