Global Cooling: Fall Snowstorm Stalls Northeast

I’m dreaming of a white — Thanksgiving? It’s not a dream, but a nightmare for travelers throughout the eastern seaboard.

Some 40 million Americans were expected to be on the move today, heading for a hearty Thanksgiving meal. But an early Nor’easter is pounding populated areas from Virginia to Maine, making travel difficult for millions.

Airport delays ranged from three hours at Newark to 90 minutes in Philadelphia, and more than 600 flights have been cancelled entirely

Road conditions aren’t much better. The fast moving storm is dumping snow as quickly as crews can clear it, leading to innumerable fender-benders. Some areas report up to 18 inches of snow, and it’s still coming down.

At least 20 million people are under winter storm warnings until tomorrow.
