Black Suspect Arrested After Kicking Bronx Mother So Hard She Lands on Top of Her Baby

Police have arrested and charged African American 18-year-old Alonzo Brown for a November 28 robbery that began by walking up behind a mother and kicking her to the ground while she carried her baby.

According to 6 ABC, a surveillance video of the attack shows the 24-year-old mother–Odila Orozco–walk by Brown. Once she passes him Brown turns, runs up behind her, and kicks her to the ground. Orozco was knocked on top her 2-month-old baby.

Brown said he did not realize Orozco was carrying a baby until after he attacked her, and he is “sorry.” But Orozco says she will not accept his apology. She says “Brown is a criminal who needs to pay for what he did.”

Brown faces charges that include “robbery, attempted robbery, assault, and [acting] in a manner injurious to a child.”

Brown has been arrested 11 times prior to the alleged attack.
