George Zimmerman, the 33 year-old Hispanic man acquitted in 2013 for killing Trayvon Martin in self defense, was arrested Friday night for aggravated assault. TMZ reports that the charges involve a weapon and that Zimmerman is being held without bail.

Since his acquittal, Zimmerman has had close to a half-dozen run-ins with the law. Although his girlfriend later decided not to press charges, Zimmerman was arrested for aggravated assault, battery and criminal mischief after she claimed he pointed a gun in her face during an argument. Police were also called to a domestic disturbance involving Zimmerman’s estranged wife. Initially, she claimed that a gun was involved but later said there wasn’t. Zimmerman has also been stopped for traffic violations on three occasions.

Zimmerman is also famous for inspiring the term “White Hispanic,” a description America’s race-baiting mainstream media invented to gin up racial hatred after the Trayvon Martin shooting. By the time the media figured out Zimmerman was indeed Hispanic, they had already erroneously invested much into a white vs. black storyline — as had MSNBC’s race-grifter and President Obama’s go-to race guy Al Sharpton.

Rather than drop the matter, on top of fabricating evidence against Zimmerman, news outlets like NBC and CNN (along with the AP and New York Times) simply made up the term White Hispanic.
