Harry Reid Misses White House Obama Meeting On Doctor’s Orders

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid did not attend the White House meeting with President Obama and congressional leaders this morning due to injuries sustained during the Christmas recess. His staff reports that Reid was hurt while exercising.

“Sen. Reid continues to work from home and looks forward to returning to the Senate floor soon,” read a statement from Reid’s office.

Obama and Vice President Biden met with leaders of both parties, including Speaker John Boehner, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.

Other Democratic Senators attending the meeting included Chuck Schumer (NY), Dick Durbin (IL), Patty Murray (WA), and Debbie Stabenow (MI).

Republican Senators included John Thune (SD), Roy Blunt (MO), John Barrasso (WY), Sen. John Cornyn (TX).
