Harry Reid Misses White House Obama Meeting On Doctor’s Orders

Senate Minority Leader Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) did not attend the White House meeting with President Obama and congressional leaders this morning due to injuries sustained during the Christmas recess. His staff reports that Reid was hurt while exercising.

“Sen. Reid continues to work from home and looks forward to returning to the Senate floor soon,” read a statement from Reid’s office.

Obama and Vice President Biden met with leaders of both parties, including Speaker Rep. John Boehner (R-OH), Senate Majority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY), and House Minority Leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).

Other Democratic Senators attending the meeting included Chuck Schumer (NY), Dick Durbin (IL), Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA) (WA), and Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) (MI).

Republican Senators included Sen. John Thune (R-SD) (SD), Sen. Roy Blunt (R-MO) (MO), Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY) (WY), Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) (TX).
