Cuba Looks to Set Up Shop in the U.S.

With President Obama pushing to “normalize” relations with Communist Cuba and its tyrants, Fidel and Raúl Castro, there has been talk about where Obama would prop up the Cuban consulate to the United States.

You would think that a natural fit for a Cuban consulate would be the “People’s Republic of North Cuba,” or Miami, Florida, but considering that the opening of a consulate in that neck of the Cuban exile woods, would all but guarantee continuous demonstrations of exiles hurling dominoes at the structure, could there be another location in the U.S. that would be best-suited for President Obama’s café con leche endeavor?

Even Miami Mayor Tomás Regalado has said that the presence of a Cuban consulate in Miami would “incite potential violent protests,” so why would Obama erect a consulate in the heart of a Cuban exile community?

I know why… to stick it in the faces of all those Republican-leaning Cuban exiles who voted against him.

An enthusiastic Congresswoman Kathy Castor (D) seems to think that Tampa, Florida, is a great choice for Fidel and Raúl Castro to anchor their Cuban Intelligence Agency in the United States.

Look, anywhere Obama decides to open a consulate, even in Tampa, Cuban exiles and their sympathizers, will travel to that spot to protest the Castros’ years of oppression, terrorism, and murder—actions that Obama has approved of by making nice with them.

So, put up a consulate somewhere and let the Calle Ocho-like street party protests begin.

Viva la libertad!
